Abigail Sweeney, Au.D., M.A., LPC-A
Owner, Audiologist & Counselor
Dr. Abigail Sweeney is the owner of Hope Hearing Center, where she is helping expand the traditional model of hearing healthcare. She founded the practice in 2018 as Louisville Family Audiology and later rebranded it as Hope Hearing Center to reflect a broader vision—one that recognizes the connection between hearing, the brain, relationships, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.

After earning her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University, Dr. Sweeney became uniquely positioned to bridge the fields of audiology and mental health. Her counseling training has helped shape Hope Hearing Center into a practice focused not only on exceptional hearing technology and clinical outcomes, but also on compassionate, whole-person, trauma-informed care.
Dr. Sweeney believes hearing healthcare should consider the person behind the hearing loss. Communication difficulties can affect confidence, relationships, emotional health, connection, and a person’s ability to fully participate in life. Her goal is to create a healthcare experience where patients feel heard, understood, and cared for as whole people.
In addition to Hope Hearing Center, Dr. Sweeney owns Hope Healing Center, an emotional healing and counseling practice specializing in trauma recovery, with faith serving as the cornerstone of the practice. There, she combines evidence-based counseling approaches with a belief in the importance of emotional and spiritual healing.
Dr. Sweeney is also an author and is currently completing her first book, Hope Beyond the Hurt, to be published by Tyndale and released in 2027. The book explores trauma, healing, faith, and the stories of people throughout Scripture who encountered God in the midst of pain, rejection, shame, grief, and uncertainty.
Through her work in audiology, counseling, leadership, and writing, Dr. Sweeney is passionate about helping people experience greater connection, healing, and hope.
Outside of her professional work, Abigail is a wife to Dr. Damien Sweeney and mother to their three sons, Smith, Shawn, and Parker. Her faith remains central to both her personal life and professional calling and continues to shape her commitment to serving others with compassion, excellence, and hope.
Laureen Reimer, Au.D.
Clinical Audiologist - Clinical Team Lead
Dr. Reimer has been practicing Audiology in Louisville since 2007. She attended the University of Louisville for her undergraduate and graduate work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Doctor of Audiology degree.

She is certified by the American Board of Audiology in tinnitus (ringing in the ears) management. Dr. Reimer works with the adult population in hearing assessment, hearing aid selection, fitting, and programming. She also works with patients who have tinnitus using sound therapy approaches and counseling.
She is a personable and compassionate provider who loves getting to know her patients. It is her pleasure to help patients regain their hearing and participate more fully in communicating with family, friends, and colleagues.
Dr. Reimer enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, exercising, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her two daughters.
Katie Martin, Au.D.
Clinical Audiologist
Dr. Martin is a passionate audiologist dedicated to helping patients hear — and connect with — the world around them. She grew up just outside Indianapolis and earned her Bachelor of Science from Butler University before moving to Louisville to complete her Doctor of Audiology (AuD) at the University of Louisville.

Bringing a warm, down-to-earth approach to patient care, she takes the time to listen and ensure every patient feels seen and heard. When she’s not at work, you can find her exploring everything the city has to offer or catching live music with her husband and two children.
Dr. Martin is proud to be a certified Gold Circle Audiologist, a designation reflecting specialized training in providing elite hearing healthcare for musicians, sound engineers, concert-goers, as well as other industries with significant noise exposure. Having received intensive instruction under Dr. Michael Santucci of Sensaphonics, she is certified to provide high-precision, deep-canal ear impressions essential for custom in-ear monitors (IEMs), musician earplugs, and other hearing protection devices. Whether you need custom ear molds or a strategy for hearing loss prevention, she is dedicated to protecting your hearing without compromising your craft.
Samantha Steinbergen, BC-HIS
Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist
Samantha Steinbergen is a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist who joined Louisville Family Audiology in June 2026.

She has been helping individuals with hearing loss since 2021 and specializes in hearing aid evaluation, fitting, programming, verification, tinnitus management, and hearing conservation. Samantha is Board Certified by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS), is a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC), a Tinnitus Care Provider through the International Hearing Society, and is Lyric Certified through Phonak.
Born with hearing loss, Samantha has worn hearing aids since the age of three. Her personal experience allows her to connect with patients on a deeper level and understand many of the challenges that come with hearing loss and hearing technology. She is passionate about helping patients improve communication, reconnect with loved ones, and feel confident in their hearing journey.
A native of Henry County, Kentucky, Samantha currently resides in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with her husband and their two German Shepherds. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, exploring new places, and making memories with her family.
Olivia Wright-Dorantes, B.S.
Practice Manager
Olivia brings more than a decade of experience in healthcare administration to her role as Practice Manager. A 2012 graduate of Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Healthcare Management, she wears many hats to ensure the practice runs smoothly.

Known for her strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Olivia oversees operations, supports staff, and maintains the highest standards of patient care.
Outside of work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her husband and fur baby, Sadie. She’s passionate about creating a warm and welcoming home for her family, traveling, and exploring new culinary experiences.
